The thickness of the panels:

For very thin panels, you can leave this set to zero. For panels with a non-rectangular cross-section, use the approximate thickness of the top edge.

You can use any units for the panel thickness—feet, inches, meters, cm, furlongs, etc.—as long as you use the same units for all panel measurements.
